ABOUT THE HAUNTED ROAD

The Haunted Road is a contactless drive-thru Halloween event with theatrical show. Upon arrival, you and your party will be checked-in by QR code and go on to enjoy the immersive drive-in scenes from the comfort of your vehicle. The nighttime experience is estimated to take 50-60 minutes once you enter The Haunted Road. The daytime family-friendly experience is estimated to take approximately 40-50 minutes.

You will only be driving from scene to scene. At each scene, you’ll be required to park your vehicle. Performers will only approach your vehicle while safely parked. The story will come to life through set pieces, props, live actors, lighting, sound and visual effects to truly immerse you and your group into the journey. Similar to a drive-in theater, you’ll tune in to a radio station to hear the stereo sound and music synced to the live action.

Take a look at the frequently asked questions below for additional information about the experience.

SAFETY

The Haunted Road was designed with two goals in mind – to keep the screams going this Halloween season, while also keeping our staff, crew, and guests safe. The event was created with the recommended CDC health guidelines in mind, focusing on a completely contactless experience from the moment you arrive.

You can view The Haunted Road’s COVID-19 Safety Handbook here.

Road Safety:

  • Although you will be driving from scene to scene, all vehicles must be placed in park once you arrive at each scene. While there might be minimal set pieces as you drive, there will be no scares, actors or staff approaching vehicles while you drive from one location to the next.

  • The speed limit will be set at 5 mph.

  • For everyone’s safety, all guests must remain in their vehicles for the duration of the experience and won’t be allowed out of the vehicle.

Unfortunately, there are no animals of any kind allowed on The Haunted Road.  All humans must be sitting in their own seat within their vehicle with a seatbelt on at all times.

Is there any food & beverage sold? Or could I bring my own?

As the event is located at the same location as Corn Maze Orlando and Painted Oaks Academy, there may or may not be some food and beverage options available on certain nights. These will not be part of, or operated by The Haunted Road. You are welcome to bring your own food in your vehicle.

Hocus Pocus at the Ocala Drive-in

FAQ:

Question: It is raining , are you open ?
Answer : We are open regardless. It does not effect the quality of the picture.

Question: What time does the gates open?

Answer : Gates are scheduled to open one hour before the movie starts but, if it is a busy night we may open early to avoid vehicles lining up on the highway.

Question: Do you accept credit / debit cards at ticket box and concession?
Answer : We do accept cash or cards at both.

Question : How can we order tickets in advance to assure a parking spot ?
Answer : We do not presell tickets on line. Tickets are available at the gate at the time you arrive.

Question: Can we watch one movie on one screen and the second movie on the other ?

Answer : NO You CAN NOT . When you purchase a ticket it is for that screen only. Most of the value of your ticket goes to the film companies on that screen. If you move to other screen you are stealing a movie from the other film company since they are not getting any revenue from your ticket purchase.

Question: How do we receive the sound?
Answer : Sound is transmitted to a FM radio station so any device that can receive a regular FM station will pickup our station once you get here.

Question : Can we bring in outside food or beverages?
Answer: Like any other theatre in the world, the film company gets the largest amount of every ticket sold. The ONLY THING that keeps the drive-in in operation is the sales from our concession . We have the same policy as others, no outside food or beverages. We do make exception and sell an offsite food permit for $10 for people on special diets which the other members in family may use it towards the purchase of fresh cooked food in our concession and supports the drive-in. Anyone the violates our policy may be asked to leave without a refund for violation of policy. Check out our menu and you can order on line ( after you arrive and have parking space number ) and we will deliver to your vehicle or can come to our concession. www.orderocaladrivein.com

Question : Can we sit outside our vehicle on lawn chairs ?
Answer : Yes you can but you must stay in the area of the vehicle and not take up another parking space that can be used for other guest.

Question : Can we bring our dog ?
Answer : If you consider it a dog than leave it home. If you consider it a 4 legged family member in a fur coat than bring them along because we are a family theatre and they are part of the family .

Question : Is it a smoke free venue ?
Answer : No , it is not since it is a big open field. We do expect smokers to have consideration for the other guest and walk away from others to smoke if sitting outside or stay in your vehicle.

Question : Where can we find movie listings for next week ?
Answer : As soon as we know exactly what movies are coming we post them on our web page www.ocaladrivein.info but the best place to keep up with everything about the drive-in is our FaceBook Page https://www.facebook.com/ocaladrivein/

Out & About Bardell -Blue Springs

Out & About Bardell -Blue Springs

Refreshing 72 degree waters of Blue Spring greet visitors at this gem along the St. Johns River.

Conservation measures can produce astounding results. In 1970, two years before Blue Spring State Park was established, researchers tracked 14 manatees in the spring run. By 2005, after years of park improvements and manatee protection efforts, wintering manatee numbers exceeded 200 and by 2018, that number skyrocketed to a record 485.

Besides “sea cows,” fish abound in the spring run, and these attract a variety of wading birds, ospreys, eagles and kingfishers. To see the park’s wonders, visitors can hike along the spring run or on the 4.5-mile Pine Island Trail. Visitors can also launch a canoe or kayak (rentals are available at the park) or take a guided river boat cruise.

The Gift Shop

The Gift Shop on the left side of the concession building is found just off the boardwalk. It is in the heart of the park and will be where you’ll stop off to rent equipment and purchase the perfect gift for that manatee-lover in your life.

The Camp Store

The Camp Store on the right side of the concession building found just off the boardwalk will be where you’ll stop off to purchase food and drinks. They have plenty of picnic tables and even a gazebo for your dining pleasure

Rentals

Make sure to top off your visit to Blue Springs State Park by cruising the crystal clear spring water in one of our inner tubes or snorkeling gear.Rent an inner tube and slowly drift down the tree-lined spring run from the boil, or if you really want an up-close view of the fish and turtles that call the spring their home, rent a mask, snorkel, and fins and dive right on in. Also be sure to store your valuables in one of our many lockers right inside of our cozy gift shop.
