Fringe ArtSpace

Orlando Fringe will open “Fringe ArtSpace,” a year-round performing arts venue, in downtown Orlando on Jan. 11, 2023. The 9,100 square foot space will include two performing theatre spaces: a main stage with 166 seats and a black box with 40-60 seats. The programing will feature a mix of traditionally programmed theatre and concerts as well as a studio series with weekly, monthly and pop-up events like workshops, classes, readings, performances and artistic explorations.

What is ArtSpace?

Fringe has been asked by the City of Orlando to activate a 9,100 sq. ft. performing arts space at 54 W Church St. in downtown Orlando.

The space will now be called Fringe ArtSpace and be focused on building a dynamic, inspiring community of artists and arts lovers with the purpose of providing artists a safe environment to create, experiment, collaborate, and showcase their creations.

The type of programming in the space will be a blend of the following:

• Full theatrical runs with a commitment to a transparent application process that promotes diversity and inclusion
• An accelerator program that fosters and mentors emerging local arts groups
• Touring shows that set us as a destination
• Education programming that invests in and expands on Fringe’s unique educational experiences for artists and patrons of all ages
• Programming as part of the Orlando Fringe Festival and Winter Mini-Fest
• The community will have access to rehearsal and performance space
• Activation of the plaza to help integrate arts into our downtown atmosphere

Elves Off The Shelf Fridays

If you come home and find your elf on the shelf isn’t where you left them, you might want to see if they made their way to Museum of Illusions at ICON Park. The mischievous elves are up to their usual tricks and exploring the exciting exhibits at Museum of Illusions this holiday season.

Museum of Illusions will put a twist on the classic holiday tradition of “Elf on the Shelf” and host “Elves Off the Shelf Fridays.” For the price of regular admission, guests will be able to explore the museum’s exhibits and take photos with elves on select dates and times this December.

If your family loves the tricks elves play by moving throughout the house, you’ll love Museum of Illusions’ mind-bending exhibits that play tricks on your eyes. Guests can experience the optical illusions and photo ops with the added fun of exploring the museum and taking pictures with Santa’s elves. Put a twist on your traditional Christmas card photos and wear your best ugly Christmas sweater and Santa hat to create new digital memories this holiday season.

Elves off the Shelf Fridays will take place:

• 9 from 3-5 p.m.
• 16 from 5-7 p.m.
• 23 from 3-5 p.m.

Nutcracker December 2022

Russian Ballet Orlando presents its 22nd season of The Nutcracker and will showcase 150 company dancers performing with live music provided by the Orlando Symphony Orchestra. This timeless tradition will bring excitement, beauty and joy this Holiday Season for the entire family. The story of The Nutcracker is based on the E.T.A. Hoffman fantasy The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. More than any other ballet, The Nutcracker is about the magic of childhood. A girl named Clara received a Nutcracker doll for Christmas that comes to life at midnight and wages a battle against the evil Mouse King.

Champagne reception will be held for VIP ticket holders after the show. Your VIP ticket includes an opportunity to meet Katerina Fedotova, the Founder and President of Russian Ballet Orlando along with principal dancers performing Sugarplum Fairy, Clara and the Nutcracker, Jerry Wise the Director of the Orlando Symphony and the leading musicians.
