10 Best ROI Home Improvements

10 Best ROI Home Improvements

Whether or not you are planning to sell your property in the near future, or you just want to enjoy a few simple upgrades, there are a number of efficient ways to improve your home improvement ROI (return on investment). It is important to note however, that not all home improvements are created equal. While transforming a bathroom into a spa-like space may sound appealing, the cost may not pay for itself when it comes time to sell. Replacing gutters or fixing a leaky roof, on the other hand, is more likely to increase a home’s value (despite not sounding quite as luxurious).

As housing prices continue to increase, now is the perfect time to invest in your home’s infrastructure. Prioritizing home improvement ROI could increase your home’s value even more so, which begs the question: how can homeowners be sure their home improvements are worth the investment?

Best Return On Investment Home Improvements

  1. Minor Bathroom Remodel: Returns an average of 102%

  2. Landscaping: Returns an average of 100%

  3. Minor Kitchen Remodel: Returns an average of 98.5%

  4. Attic Bedroom Conversion: Returns an average of 93.5%

  5. Major Bathroom Remodel: Returns an average of 93.2%

  6. Major Kitchen Remodel: Returns an average of 91%

  7. Entry Door Replacement: Returns an average of 90.7%

  8. Deck/Patio/Porch Addition: Returns an average of 90.3%

  9. Basement Remodel: Returns an average of 90.1%

  10. Replace Windows: Returns an average of 89.6%

If you plan to live in your home for five or more years, you should feel free to make upgrades that fit your preferences and lifestyle; however, if you want to turn a profit when you sell, try increasing your home improvement ROI. The best return on investment home improvements have developed a reputation for simultaneously improving demand and value. Therefore, homeowners can’t simply make any upgrades they want; they need to make the right upgrades. The highest ROI home improvements will prove more efficient and worthwhile than all others.

Family Friendly Halloween Experience

Family Friendly Halloween Experience

Looking for things to do with your kids in Orlando this Halloween?

For families with small children, The Haunted Road: Family Friendly edition is available on Saturdays and Sundays in October. Celebrate all the tricks and treats of Halloween from the comfort and safety of your own vehicle!

The family-friendly event is approximately 30-40 minutes.

LIMTED TIME OFFER!

Use promo code CANDY10 during online checkout to take 10% OFF

ABOUT THE HAUNTED ROAD

The Haunted Road is a contactless drive-thru Halloween event with theatrical show. Upon arrival, you and your party will be checked-in by QR code and go on to enjoy the immersive drive-in scenes from the comfort of your vehicle. The nighttime experience is estimated to take 50-60 minutes once you enter The Haunted Road. The daytime family-friendly experience is estimated to take approximately 40-50 minutes.

You will only be driving from scene to scene. At each scene, you’ll be required to park your vehicle. Performers will only approach your vehicle while safely parked. The story will come to life through set pieces, props, live actors, lighting, sound and visual effects to truly immerse you and your group into the journey. Similar to a drive-in theater, you’ll tune in to a radio station to hear the stereo sound and music synced to the live action.

Take a look at the frequently asked questions below for additional information about the experience.

SAFETY

The Haunted Road was designed with two goals in mind – to keep the screams going this Halloween season, while also keeping our staff, crew, and guests safe. The event was created with the recommended CDC health guidelines in mind, focusing on a completely contactless experience from the moment you arrive.

You can view The Haunted Road’s COVID-19 Safety Handbook here.

Road Safety:

  • Although you will be driving from scene to scene, all vehicles must be placed in park once you arrive at each scene. While there might be minimal set pieces as you drive, there will be no scares, actors or staff approaching vehicles while you drive from one location to the next.

  • The speed limit will be set at 5 mph.

  • For everyone’s safety, all guests must remain in their vehicles for the duration of the experience and won’t be allowed out of the vehicle.

  • All vehicles are required to have current car insurance and the driver will be responsible for any damage and/or injuries that may occur due to the fault of the driver, staff, performers, or anyone else.

  • No motorcycles, scooters, bikes, limos, low-riding cars or oversized vehicles permitted. (Vehicle size restriction: 7.5’ H x 8.5’ W max)

Do Not Enter If:

  • You have had a recent SURGERY or are using medication which could cause drowsiness.

  • You suffer from mental health struggles involving fear of the dark, loud sounds or have sensitivity to strobe lighting.

  • You are PREGNANT or have a medical condition that could be worsened by being scared.

  • Your tank of gas is not full or if your vehicle is not in proper working condition.

ALLERGY ALERT: The Haunted Road: Family Friendly Edition candy may contain PEANUTS.

All guests must sign and agree to a liability waiver.

Safety FAQs:

Are we required to wear masks even inside the vehicle?

Following CDC guidelines, all performers and staff will be wearing face masks at all times. For the safety and respect of our performers, if you have your vehicle windows down, all guests will be required to have a face mask on. The Haunted Road themed face masks are available for purchase online or you can wear your own.

Is there a limit to the number of guests per vehicle?

All guests must have their own seat and seatbelt in order to enter The Haunted Road.

Is there a restriction on the type of vehicle allowed?

For everyone’s safety, there are NO motorcycles, scooters, bikes, limos, low-riding cars or oversized vehicles permitted. If you have a convertible with the top down or if your vehicle windows are down, all guests will be required to have a face mask on

What precautions/health guidelines are you taking for the performers and staff?

The safety of our guests, performers and staff are our top priority, so we’ve designed this entire experience with the current health guidelines in mind. You can view The Haunted Road’s COVID-19 Safety Handbook here. Below are the key measures we’re taking:

  • Performers and staff will wear masks while on-site. You’ll notice that we’ve cleverly integrated face masks into our actors’ costumes in an effort to keep them safe, while still being in character at all times. Frequent hand sanitizing will be required.

  • Our team will socially distance from each other at all times and rehearsals will happen virtually or outdoors.

  • Prior to entry, all staff will be subject to temperature checks.

  • COVID-19 related protocols will be intertwined into all operations.

THE EXPERIENCE

How does it work? Will I be driving the whole time?

We designed this The Haunted Road to be experienced from inside of your vehicle. For the safety of everyone, including guests, staff and performers, guests must remain in their vehicles at all times and will not be allowed to get out of the vehicle. Once you enter The Haunted Road, you must go through the entire experience.

Do I need to turn my off my headlights once parked?

You are required to drive from scene to scene with your headlights on. Once you arrive at each scene, you’ll be required to put your vehicle into park and turn off your headlights.

Is the venue completely outdoors?

Yes, The Haunted Road will take place completely outdoors. The terrain is rough, perfect for a true haunted experience. Since the terrain is unpaved, you can expect your vehicle to get a little muddy after going through the experience.

How long does it take to drive from scene to scene? Could I get lost?

Each scene location is very close to one another. It will take you approximately 3 minutes to go from one scene to the next.

How long is the total experience?

The Haunted Road nighttime experience is estimated at 50-60 minutes long from start to finish. The daytime family friendly version is estimated at 40-50 minutes.

Yes, you can take photos while you aren’t driving and the flash must be turned off. You may record short videos (20-30 seconds each) while you aren’t driving and without any flash or external lighting.

Can I wear my Halloween costume?

Yes! We highly encourage all guests to wear their Halloween costumes in their vehicles while they experience The Haunted Road.  We recommend supporting our Party City sponsor by purchasing costumes there before attending!

For everyone’s safety, all guests must remain in their vehicles for the duration of the experience and won’t be allowed out of the vehicle. In the event of an emergency, please talk to one of our staff members. There will be a staff member at each scene.

Is the nighttime experience really intense/scary?

This is a live theatrical show that combines a mix of storytelling, twisted characters and unexpected scares. Families with children under 13 should attend the family-friendly version of the event, available during the day on select weekends. The daytime event will feature an adaptation of the immersive scenes and storyline, but trading screams for Halloween fun the entire family can enjoy.

Is the event for the entire family or is there a recommended age to attend?

The nighttime version of The Haunted Road is not recommended for guests under 13 years old. The daytime family-friendly event, available on select weekends, is recommended for families with younger children and will feature an adaptation of the immersive scenes and storyline, but trading screams for Halloween fun the entire family can enjoy.

Unfortunately, there are no animals of any kind allowed on The Haunted Road.  All humans must be sitting in their own seat within their vehicle with a seatbelt on at all times.

Is there any food & beverage sold? Or could I bring my own?
