Massive Beachfront Mansion up for Grabs
Billy Joel’s 13,200-square-foot Florida Beachfront Mansion and an adjacent vacant lot were relisted last month for $27 million, less than two years after the Piano Man bought them.
The musician cut the price of the property in Manalapan, a beach community just south of West Palm Beach. It was originally listed last year for $29 million according to Variety, but was later pulled off the market.
According to records, Joel initially paid $11.8 million for the 9-bedroom, 9-bath home under the company name of South Florida Living LLC, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
Built in 2005, the main house has 7 bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms, while the property also includes a separate 2-bedroom guest house, a pool and four-car garage.
The real estate’s stunning location isn’t ideal. The mansion is built on the inland waterway. Owners must use a tunnel to pass under Ocean Boulevard, the main road bisecting the two sides of the city which cuts through the center of the parcels, to reach the ocean.
Joel has been touring, with dates coming up in Washington, Pennsylvania, Illinois, London, Oklahoma and Texas this year, as well as a monthly concert series at Madison Square Garden in New York.
